University of Newcastle

The University of Newcastle’s Innovation Hub incorporated Innovative and sustainable materials to build their Innovation Hub – Q Building at Honeysuckle. Timber was used throughout the building to reduce embodied carbon and minimise construction waste, and an electrochromic ‘smart glass’ façade was installed to increase energy efficiency and occupant comfort. The extensive use of timber on the Q Building required a unique coordination plan. A total of 24 container loads of timber and accessories were delivered and we accomplished the installation of the mass timber elements ahead of schedule to deliver this outstanding facility.
